Museum Newsletter for Spring 2017

Welcome to another season of the Drylanders Museum.

We are planning for an exciting year.
Our May 6th opening will feature a new display of women’s formal wear 1900 to 1980 and we continue to work on our Nunn area Family Room.
Thank you to all who donated or purchased a raffle ticket at the Nunn Harvest Festival.
We were able to repair the damage caused by the hail we had.
A work day is planned for April 22. Please come help us dust the interior and clear exterior weeds.
We will be holding our annual Flag Day Ceremony again this year on June 11th 1:30pm.
On a more somber note, we are all feeling the loss of our good friends, Bob Barnes and Clayton Neitfeld. They were both very involved with the museum since its inception. Bob served on the High Plains Historical Society Board of Trustees as our Treasurer and Clayton donated our very first farm machine, the Anholtz Avery Combine that we proudly display in our equipment yard. Bob was always helping to keep the museum open and on most weekends would find him there. Clayton has given the invocation for just about every event ever held at the museum.
Their knowledge and smiles will be missed by us all.

Recently, our Museum staff discovered a magazine called Colorado Life. We thought it was worth sharing on our website. As the magazine says, "Each issue of Colorado Life Magazine is a voyage of discovery. Our writers and photographers roam the state seeking out fascinating people, places and history-and they bring readers along for the ride." Our Museum was included in the Summer Road Trip To 23 Plains Museums article in the July/August issue.
Subscriptions are $21 a year, but if you place a subscription thru the Museum for $24, we recieve a generous rebate from the magazine. Contact Bobette or Jim Dannettell 970-669-6142 or jed4570@aol.com if you would be interested in ordering Colorado Life and contributing to the Museum in this way.
